Alright my fellow synapses, it’s that time again. Today I want to talk to you about how a country forms and how it falls apart. Countries are most likely humanity’s greatest achievement. Through it, we can accomplish almost anything, while also protecting ourselves and providing a base for us to expand from.
Countries form from one thing and only one thing, Co-operation. Without co-operation, the country would fall apart in the most destructive of ways. We have seen this happen many times throughout history. It begins with an idea, then contempt for fellow citizens and then finally civil war, or worse yet, subterfuge from another country.
Co-operation is the cornerstone to everything a country is. As Abraham Lincoln said in his famous speech to the U.S. Republican State Convention of 1858, “A house divided against itself cannot stand” This is a universal truth of every country: past, present, and future.
As citizens of our individual countries, we rely on the country to house us, protect us and sometimes guide us, while we go about our daily lives. But it is also up to us citizens to offer a hand in co-operating when the infighting begins to spiral out of control.
Countries are not their flags, nor their names, they are all the people that incorporate them. The citizens, the soon to be citizens and the citizens who make it their goal to serve and protect them. Everything a citizen is and everything a citizen does, the country they live in reflects and magnifies. When the citizens stop co-operating, then the country begins to crack and fall apart.
So, now is the time for my question.
The importance of co-operation is obvious, but if you had to prevent a country’s self-destruction, how would you go about it and why that particular method?
That’s all for today my fellow synapses. See you in the next topic. Don’t forget to comment below or join in on other discussions over on the forums. Have a good day, and keep learning new things.
